SAN DIMAS, Calif. — The rIQ (refractive index quantification) from Craic Technologies Inc. and Laboratory Imaging s.r.o. of Prague performs analysis of glass trace evidence.
It uses the thermal immersion method to enable criminalists in modern forensic laboratories to measure the refractive index of multiple glass fragments simultaneously.
The standalone package consists of a phase-contrast microscope, a high-resolution digital camera, the optical interface, a thermal stage, and controlling electronics and software.
