FemtoFiber dichro design by TopticaMultiple-wavelength ultrashort pulses from a single fiber laser for multiphoton microscopy.

The new concept in the ultrafast fiber laser market provides an ultimate convenience and ease of use, which combine world-renowned TOPTICA reliability and performance. In our new FemtoFiber dichro design bioMP, two perfectly synchronized sub-100 fs lasers are combined and overlapped spatially and temporally. Two collinear laser beams are centered at 780 nm (>100 mW) and 1030 nm (>200 mW) and, along with internal delay line, integrated in a single box. This concept allows out-of-the-box pump-probe experiments!

The FemtoFiber dichro design bioMP might inspire one to define some new math where One Plus One Equals Three, as two-photon excitation happens not only with two identical wavelength photons at 780 nm and 1030 nm but also at 890 nm (when delay is set to zero) where two-photon excitation happens by combining one 780 nm and one 1030 nm photon. Control which fluorophores will be excited or study the dynamics by changing the delay remotely from your computer. As a result, one sees the three two-photon excitation lines from the original two laser lines. This one box solution can be used to excite, for example, dyes from the Alexa family, GFP and YFP but is also suitable for SHG imaging.

Passively cooled, alignment-free, hands-off and fully computer-controlled, the FemtoFiber dichro design bioMP represents a new and unique tool for multiphoton microscopy and biophotonics researchers!
