IRVINE, Calif. — Newport IDL SeriesNew linear stages from Newport Corp. are engineered for extended operation in industrial environments with heavy duty cycles, like ultrafast laser micromachining, ablation, cutting or laser additive manufacturing.

Four sizes of the IDL Series offer load capacities up to 150 kg and travel ranges from 100 to 1200 mm and speeds up to 2 m/s.

Equipped with hard metal covers, wear-resistant side protection bands and an air purge, the stages are designed for harsh production environments. Recirculating caged ball bearings, a high-efficiency linear motor and a high-resolution optical encoder ensure dynamic performance. The ironless linear motor eliminates the cogging effects associated with other motor designs.
