SHEFFORD, England — Laser Control Systems Digi-Cube IILaser Control Systems Ltd. has introduced the fourth-generation Digi-Cube II digital laser scan head for high-speed laser marking. Suitable for OEM design integration, the compact version of the original model is a plug-and-play replacement for existing analog scan heads.

The device has servo digital drive electronics and uses the XY2-100 communication protocol as standard. Its operating system uses digital signal processing to predict the exact drive impulses required to achieve small mirror movements with the fastest possible acceleration. The galvanometer speed is 1000 impressions per second.

The scan head is configured to interface with proprietary Digi-Struct software, which allows up to 256 laser marking programs to be downloaded onto an SD card. When switched on, the Digi-Cube II performs a self-diagnosis and system check to confirm the accuracy and positioning of the laser marking.
