BRAUNSCHWEIG, Germany, May 5, 2015 — The StereoScan Neo white-light scanner by Aicon 3D Systems GmbH represents an upgraded addition to the company's StereoScan series for measuring complex surface structures.
With the StereoScan Neo, it is possible to visualize the results of a measurement directly on the object. Previously, the fringe projection was highly dependent on the surface properties of the scanning object, and the quality of measurement results was significantly affected by the color and reflection properties of the surface. StereoScan Neo's digital-adaptive, full-color projection technique provides the necessary correction by using color and intensity control to optimally adjust to surface properties.
The StereoScan Neo has applications in the tooling and molding industry, in model making and in inspection tasks. It is available in either an 8- or 12-MP digital camera version. By changing the camera lenses and base length, the scanner can capture measurement fields of 75 to 1100 mm.
