SANTA CLARA, Calif., June 22, 2015 — Spectra-Physics Explorer OneSpectra-Physics (part of Newport Corp.) has added three models to its Explorer One line of actively Q-switched diode-pumped solid-state (DPSS) lasers with enhanced UV performance.

Explorer One XP 355-2 provides >2 W of UV power for micromachining and marking of a range of materials including battery foils, sapphire and plastics.

The ultracompact Explorer One 355-1 outputs >800 mW of UV power, enabling systems for high-contrast plastics marking and microelectronics micromachining.

Explorer One HE 355-100 delivers a typical pulse energy of 100 μJ at a 10-kHz repetition rate for UV marking of challenging materials and devices, including ceramics and polymers in implantable medical devices, and pharmaceuticals.
