WATERLOO, Ontario, Canada, June 25, 2015 — Teledyne Dalsa Inc. has announced TurboDrive data-encoding technology, allowing select GigE Vision cameras to achieve high speeds, increasing throughput by as much as 150 percent and retaining 100 percent of image data.
TurboDrive enables cameras to transmit complete image information at a rate exceeding the constraints of Gigabit Ethernet. The technology uses image-entropy-based encoding to model pixel information without information loss.
Faster data transmission on the link is enabled, as each pixel is comprised of fewer bits for encoding.
