NORCROSS, Ga. — Multimode FiberLaserWave FLEX WideBand multimode fiber from OFS Fitel LLC is designed for OM4 and next-generation short-wavelength division multiplexing applications.

The fiber meets and is fully backwards compatible with current OM4 requirements, while extending the ability of conventional OM4 multimode fiber to support multiple wavelengths from 850 to 950 nm.

Multiple lanes of traffic over the same strand of fiber are enabled, improving bandwidth capacity while maintaining cost advantages for short-distance applications up to 300 m or more. The fiber supports four-wavelength 100-Gb/s applications while providing bandwidth for 400 Gb/s and higher.
