Smart CamerasVision Components GmbH has expanded its portfolio of real-time capable smart cameras with the VC Z 0015 model featuring a 2-MP CMOS sensor.

The sensor captures up to 50 fps in full resolution (1600 × 1200 pixels) and supports exposure times of 15 μs with a high-speed shutter and up to 1.28 s with a low-speed shutter.

Running the VC Linux operating system, the camera features a Xilinx Zynq ARM processor with two 866-MHz Cortex-A9 cores for high-speed image processing.

The camera is available in a miniature housing or a slightly larger IP-67-rated protective housing, and comes with an optional integrated autofocus lens and LED illumination.

Designed for machine or robot integration, the camera offers more than 300 functions for easy programming of image processing routines, such as bar code recognition, shape and position recognition, or verification of printed products.
