DOVER, N.J. — Casio America Inc. has expanded its line of LampFree projectors with the EcoLite, Ultra Short Throw and Slim models for educators. By combining a laser and LED light source, the projectors are high-brightness and mercury-free, using half the amount of power per unit of traditional lamp-based projectors. The LampFree models require minimal maintenance while eliminating the cost of replacement lamps with a 20,000-hour lifespan, equivalent to 18 years of school use. The EcoLight series (pictured) combines a laser with fluorescent elements and LEDs to create intense brightness with little degradation and constant operation. The projector provides a 30 percent increase in LED light output, offering a greater increase in color spectrum for projecting images and lessons. It produces 2700 lm of brightness with XGA resolution, suitable for displaying content from video and computer sources. The Ultra Short Throw Series offers WXGA resolution, remote smartphone access and a variety of features for classroom integration. The Slim projectors are 1.7-in. thick and weigh 5 lb. Both models can interface with mobile devices.
