WOBURN, Mass. — LumiBright 3300BLumiBright 3300B UV LEDs from Innovations in Optics Inc. offer illumination for digital light processing (DLP) applications such as 3D printing, maskless lithography, prepress digital imaging, phototherapy and refractive surgery.

The illuminators feature a densely packed UV LED array with standard center wavelengths of 365, 375, 385, 395 and 405 nm. They are coupled to a high-efficiency, nonimaging collection optic with an aspect ratio matched to digital light processing chips. Water cooling allows operation at high current density.

The multiwavelength feature supports many photoresists ranging from general-purpose dry film to conventional solder masks in maskless lithography for manufacturing printed circuit boards. For prepress operations in the printing industry, computer-to-plate systems with UV LEDs can support highly cost-efficient, mature UV plate technology. UV LED and DLP exposure eliminate the need for several consumables and production steps, improving process efficiency at lower cost with higher quality.
