SOLIHULL, England — Arden Photonics Ltd. has announced the FGC range of optical fiber geometry measurement equipment, providing high-speed automated measurement of fiber end-face geometry including core diameter, core noncircularity, cladding diameter, cladding noncircularity and core-to-cladding concentricity.

Complete measurement takes < 20 s. Specially designed holders, a fiber handling bench and traceable calibration ensure repeatability of < 0.05 μm on core and cladding diameters.

Options are available for measuring large-diameter fibers up to 1 mm, as well as specialty fibers such as double-clad, noncircular, multicore and polarization-maintaining. Side-view coating options are also available.
