InfraTec has developed a 10 GigE interface for the thermographic camera series ImageIR®. For the cameras, this means a strong increase in performance. In the world of electronics, speed is a crucial variable. Therefore InfraTec has increased the data transfer rate for its high-end camera series ImageIR®. The new 10 Gigabit Ethernet interface, 10 GigE for short, transfers data ten times faster than a conventional GigE interface. This allows users to profit from significantly higher frame rates than before, while still measuring in full screen mode. The connection between the more developed models of ImageIR® and the computer by means of special 10 GigE transceivers (SFP+) allows the user a transmission speed of 10 Gbit/s. With the use of a Thunderbolt adapter, connection to powerful laptops is even possible. Thanks to modern fiber optic cable, a connection is completely immune to electromagnetic interference and can range from several meters to tens of kilometers. A corresponding standard SFP ensures compatibility of the new models for GigE connection to computers in existing systems.
Another advantage for the customer is the option to retrofit already used cameras with this new industry interface by InfraTec. Features like these qualify the models of ImageIR® series for use in industrial environments. This includes the selection of powerful detectors in formats up to (1,280 × 1,024) IR pixels. With thermal resolution of 0.015 K and maximum frame rates of 25,000 Hz, this gives users perfect conditions to tackle even the most demanding measuring and testing tasks.
