SANTA CLARA, Calif. — The Spirit HE line of industrial femtosecond lasers from Spectra-Physics, a Newport Company, offers pulse energies of >120 μJ and average output powers >16 W.

The lasers provide pulse energy and repetition rate adjustability from single shot to 1 MHz. Options are also available for adjustable pulse duration, allowing the user to choose pulse durations from <400 fs to 10 ps, and integrated second harmonic generation (SHG) for software-selectable 520- or 1040-nm output.

The SHG option of Spirit HE offers >60 μJ at 520 nm for precision applications and small geometries. The laser includes an integrated pulse picker for fast pulse selection and power control for high process throughput.

The lasers are designed for medical devices, automotive, microelectronics, clean energy and other industrial manufacturing applications.
