NEWBURY, England, Feb. 16, 2016 — Laser GratingsAlrad Photonics, a division of Instruments Ltd., has announced high-power laser gratings from Bach Research Corp., featuring a 95 percent absolute efficiency guaranteed at 10.6 μm (up to 99 percent available on request) from 9 to 11 μm.

Nominal standard line spacings include 135, 150, 163, 171 and 200 lines/mm. The gratings are ruled directly into gold deposited on copper, invar or stainless steel.

The gratings have proven effective in lasers with a 5-kW output, with the intra-cavity location of the grating dealing with a factor of 50 times more power. The components have supported transversely excited atmospheric lasers, with the grating surviving 100 million shots.
