DRESDEN, Germany — Gas Analysis DetectorsInfraTec GmbH has announced the LRM-254 miniaturized IR detector for gas analysis.

The four-channel detector has an aperture of 5 mm and a central window in its detector cap. The sapphire broadband filter offers protection against penetrating moisture and can be soldered to the housing for a hermetic seal.

The channels are placed inside the detector where they are shielded from mechanical and physical stress, as well as other strains from harsh environments. All elements are placed closer together inside the detector, allowing more radiation to reach the pyroelectric element, a higher signal and a wider field of view.
