EWING, N.J., May 11, 2016 — Multimode Optical ReceiversDiscovery Semiconductors Inc. has announced its multimode optical receivers, enabling space-to-ground laser communications links.

The low-noise devices are intended to be used at a data rate of 1.8 GB/s for the European Space Agency’s geostationary links. The receivers, up to 10 GB/s, are also used for laser communication terminals for a low-noise, high-bandwidth standard.
