Plastic Measurement SystemTetechs Inc. has announced PlasThick, a multilayer thickness measurement system.

The device detects and measures individual layers within multilayer plastic bottles and preforms in a fast, noncontact, nondestructive manner. It can measure both opaque and translucent plastics, boasting high-precision in measurements of up to 10 layers ranging in thickness from 0.01 to 5 mm.

PlasThick also locates ultrathin barrier layers. It is powered by core terahertz platform technology and can be integrated into offline, at-line or in-line systems.
