Oct 2016

UTRECHT, Netherlands, Oct. 19, 2016 — MILabs BV has launched EXIRAD-3D, its new µm-resolution imaging technology.

The single photon emissions computed tomography (SPECT) technology is dedicated to imaging ex-vivo tissue samples. The device enables highly detailed quantitative and automated 3D scanning of radio-labeled molecules in biological tissue samples such as complete organs of small animals, and can be readily combined with x-ray computed tomography.

By cryo-cooling the tissue samples with a µm-resolution SPECT option, researchers can eliminate many tedious, time-consuming and error-prone steps from traditional quantitative 3D autoradiography.
