NEW TAIPEI CITY, Taiwan — Ambient Light SensorThe ALS-PD50-42C from Everlight Electronics Co. Ltd. is an ambient light sensor operating at 550 nm and featuring a low signal calculation failure rate and high current efficiency.

The heart rate signal is calculated according to the current changes in transmission and reflection between the green light LED and the sensor to detect the systolic and diastolic blood vessels. With a large detection area of 8.1 mm2, the signal strength of the ALS-PD50-42C is strong and reliable with a bigger than usual sensing area that improves the capabilities in instances when there are signal interferences caused by people’s skin color, tattoos or hair on the skin. This feature allows for accurate and reliable detection for the wearable heart rate technology.

The sensor is ideal for runners or any other users of accurate wearable devices.
