The MGLM-1063 Gigabit Link Module from Methode Electronics Inc. was
designed for fiber channel arbitrated loop network applications. The
transmitter and receiver pair form a high-speed serial link with a data
rate of 1.0625 GBd and provide a 20-bit-wide bus designed to transfer
data encoded with the 8B/10B encoding scheme. The device operates on a
single 5-V power supply with a typical transmission distance up to 500
m on a 50- to 125-µm multimode fiber.
