3D scan system with variable image field SCANLAB will introduce, at the LASER World of PHOTONICS Show in Munich, the powerSCAN II – a new 3D scan solution for industrial cutting and welding applications using CO2 lasers. This 50-mm system offers small spot sizes combined with large working fields. Its low-mass mirrors make it ideal for highly dynamic cutting of paper and cardboard packaging, as well as textile marking or welding of metal components via multi-kW lasers. Usage flexibility is underscored by a motor-controlled FLEX function enabling continuously variable image field sizes from 250 x 250 mm² to 1500 x 1500 mm². Simultaneously, various spot diameters and working distances are achievable.

The proven iDRIVE technology permits multiple application-specific tunings, e.g. for complex cutting shapes with many angles, or for line-by-line bitmap marking at high line speeds. Integrators appreciate a further advantage: the exceptionally compact design allows deployment of several scanners arranged in parallel within a confined space, to facilitate simultaneous processing in overlapping image fields.
