PEABODY, Mass. — SemiNex Corp. has announced a 1270-nm handheld laser device for medical use.

This specific wavelength has been proven to enhance immune response to vaccines. This NIR laser treatment avoids side effects like soreness, inflammation, erythema and tissue damage that often occur with chemical adjuvants. The wavelength of 1270 nm is useful in creating different forms of oxygen, and 1270-nm irradiation in water causes photoactivation in the ground state of oxygen to create singlet oxygen.

The device is designed for clinical applications.
