BARRINGTON, N.J., Oct. 18, 2017 — VIS-NIR Coated Achromatic LensesTECHSPEC VIS-NIR Coated Achromatic Lenses from Edmund Optics Inc. consist of two optical components cemented together to form a doublet and provide a low-cost alternative to air-spaced focusing doublets.

The lenses are corrected for on-axis spherical and chromatic aberrations. Nine new models of TECHSPEC VIS-NIR Coated Achromatic Lenses include diameters of 12.7, 18, 30 and 75 mm, with ground or inked-edge models available. They feature a VIS-NIR coating with a transmission range from 400 to 1000 nm. Designed for a 0° angle of incidence, the lenses are optimized for <0.25 percent absolute reflectivity at 880 nm.

TECHSPEC VIS-NIR Coated Achromatic Lenses are also available in edge-blackened models, minimizing the stray light within an optical system, decreasing noise and increasing contrast.
