CMOS CameraThe CB500 camera from Ximea GmbH is equipped with a high-grade, 35-mm, full-frame, global shutter CMOS sensor with 7920 × 6004-pixels resolution and the ability to provide 8-, 10-, 12- or 14-bit crystal clear images.

With PCI Express, this 48 Mpix sensor is able to reach the remarkable speed of over 30 fps at full resolution. The camera’s data and control interface are fully compliant with PCI Express External Cabling Specifications, which allow 20-Gbps and real data throughput of 1550 MB/s. Distance reach of up to 300 m is featured using fiber optics and streaming of data directly to PC memory without the need of expensive frame grabbers or special, complicated software.

Applications include flat panel inspection, printed circuit board examination, persistent stadium and border security, wide area surveillance, 360 panorama, cinematography, instant replays, virtual and augmented reality, sports imaging and broadcasting, motion capture, and aerial or city mapping.
