Analog Devices Inc. has introduced the ADSP-TS001 TigerSharc digital signal processor for telecommunications infrastructure applications. It can process 8-, 16- and 32-bit and floating-point data types on a single chip, accelerating processing speed based on the data type. It also can execute a floating-point fast Fourier transform in 69 µs; for fixed-point processing, the device can achieve fast Fourier transform performance of 7.3 µs. It processes 1.2 billion multiply accumulates (MACs) per second for 16-bit fixed-point processing.
