Continuum's Minilite II is one of the smallest turnkey Nd:YAG lasers on the market, according to the company. Based on Continuum's Surelite Oscillator design, the laser has a rugged mechanical construction, allowing it to be mounted in any orientation. With high peak powers, short pulse durations and 1- to 15-Hz repetition rates, the device is suitable as a replacement for nitrogen gas lasers. Applications include LIF, mass spectroscopy, particle image velocimetry, microscopy and cell ablation.
