A new optical glass, K-PSFn3, is available from Sumita Optical Glass Inc. in preforms such as gobs, balls and discs for precision molding and the production of aspheric lenses. The glass contains no lead and is chemically resistant. Suitable for molding at 420 to 600 °C, K-PSFn3 displays indices of refraction of nd = 1.83917 and ne = 1.84746, and Abbe numbers of VD = 23.9 and VE = 23.7.
