OptiLED light pipes from LEDtronics Inc. can be positioned on top of a SurfLED surface-mount-technology LED to channel its light to a specific location. The pipes are made of UL90V-0-compliant polycarbonate to maximize light transmission and provide a 180° viewing angle. They come in square, rectangular, round and flush-mounted configurations with 3-, 3 x 5- and 2.8-mm lenses. They can be ordered as single- or bi-level arrangements, in individual units or as arrays from two to 25 in a row. Applications include network and telecom operation indicators, portable device backlighting and handheld instrument illumination.
