Optometrics USA Inc. has developed a 600-lines-per-millimeter grating for telecommunications applications. The relatively flat response in the telecom band eliminates the need for polarizing elements to maintain high efficiency. The grating is designed to provide high efficiency and low polarization dependence between 1500 and 1600 nm, and can be used in a variety of WDM and other near-IR applications. It is available in standard and custom sizes from 6 to 50 mm sq.
