tsolarThe Model LS-1000 large-area solar simulator from Solar Light Co. employs a 1000-W xenon lamp and a 1000-W regulated switching power supply with adjustable current for controlling the intensity. The simulator's output closely reproduces the solar spectrum from 250 to 2400 nm. It provides a large round illumination area of 2, 4, 6, 8 or 10 in. in diameter or a square area with 4-, 6- or 8-in. sides. Applications include the stimulation of UV-active coatings and adhesives, material degradation research and semiconductor testing. Optional filters permit user-specified output spectra, and an internal electric shutter ensures reliable exposure control.
