Spherically mounted retroreflector optical targets from SMX Corp. feature a new seam design that improves the quality of the fit between mirror panels, protecting against temperature variations and extending the target's lifetime. The devices' small gap width and flat mirrors increase the power of the laser beam that is reflected to the laser tracker, improving the measurement accuracy. According to the company, the devices, which are available in 1 1/2-, 7/8- and 1/2-in. diameters, are compatible with any laser tracker.
