Terahertz Technologies Inc. has designed its R-700 single-board laser energy meter for use with its P-444 pyroelectric energy probe. The meter provides the functions of a standard benchtop instrument in a drop-in package for medical or industrial laser systems. Communication with the device is achieved through the RS-232 port, and Windows 3.1, 95 and 98 software is provided for control and logging functions. When used with the P-444, it exhibits a spectral range from 350 nm to 2 µm, ±3%; a maximum repetition rate of 75/s; and an optical pulse width ?2 ms.
