Exfo Electro-Optical Engineering Inc. has unveiled a remote fiber test system for monitoring wavelength to detect faulty channels in DWDM networks. The FiberVisor enables a DWDM system to be characterized for power, wavelength drift and signal-to-noise ratio as defined by the user. The device is a permanently installed fault surveillance system with a mapping system that allows problems to be located quickly. Other benefits include network security; alarm, cable and data management; and open architecture.
