Linos Photonics GmbH has unveiled a widely tunable, continuous-wave optical parametric oscillator (OPO). The OS 4000's signal and idler radiation are tunable from 1.45 to 2.0 µm and 2.3 to 4.0 µm, respectively, with an output of up to 100 mW. The compact device is solid-state and includes an integrated pump laser and control unit. Its output radiation is single frequency, with a narrow linewidth and low noise. Applications include spectroscopy and optical metrology.
