laRadiometer Spectronics Corp. says it has redesigned its short-wave UV digital radiometer to ensure accuracy for measuring the output of UV sources used for sterilization and for erasing EPROM chips and semiconductor wafers. The Spectroline DM-254XA has a silicon photodiode sealed in a metal/quartz package that protects against shock and humidity. The handheld device measures short-wave UV (254 nm) with an overall accuracy better than ±5%, traceable to NIST. The digital radiometer measures from 0 to 19,990 µW/cm2 and has a resolution of 10 µW/cm2 for high sensitivity.
