The IT-77 automatic midstripper for fiber optic coating removal and cleaning is available from Icent Technologies Inc. The system removes the protective polymer coating while maintaining the quality of the glass fiber and has a zero rejection rate. It strips three lengths of coating with the push of a button, and the maximum cycle time for the removal process is <12 s. The cleaner eliminates the introduction of contaminants to stripped glass-fiber surfaces.
