The pocket-size FPM-250 fiber optic power meter has been released by Terahertz Technologies Inc. It incorporates a 1-mm-diameter InGaAs detector that provides improved temperature stability at 1550 nm. The rugged device, which offers a measurement range of +5 to -75 dBm (+25 to -55 dBm for the CATV model), is equipped with a universal 2.5-mm ferrule adapter. Features include a four-digit display for 0.01-dB resolution, storage of three reference values for decibel-relative measurements and a 200-h battery life.
