dSpectrometerThe HR2000 miniature spectrometer from Ocean Optics Inc. can achieve optical resolution to 0.05 nm (FWHM). It plugs directly into the USB or serial port of palm-size, laptop and desktop PCs. The device measures 5.6 x 4.0 x 1.6 in. and has a modular design, allowing users to select optical bench options, such as the detector, grating and entrance aperture, according to application requirements. Detector options are a CCD array, a UV CCD array and an array for NIR applications. More than 12 gratings, ranging from 300 to 3600 lines per millimeter, six slit-size options, from 5 to 200 µm, and accessories such as light sources, probes and optical fibers are available.
