McPherson Inc. says its normal-incidence monochromator provides excellent spectral resolution and imaging properties in the extreme- and vacuum-ultraviolet. This spectrometer, which has a 1-m focal length, is suitable for use with CCD or microchannel plate focal plane array detectors. It operates from 30 nm to the visible with selected gratings and has an astigmatic optical design with a concave diffraction grating. The autofocusing wavelength drive provides high resolution over the complete range of operation. The device is available in focal lengths from 1 to 6.65 m.
