JERUSALEM, Dec. 14, 2012 — Ophir Optronics Ltd. has announced that its CO2 Optics Div. has developed optics for high-power 1-μm laser systems.

The company’s OEM-approved fused-silica lenses deliver ultralow absorption of <50 ppm at 1.03 to 1.07 μm, a focal length tolerance of ±0.5% and a laser damage threshold of >10 J. The fused-silica UV-grade spherical lenses have a surface quality of 10-5 scratch-dig, >90% clear aperture, and reflection of <0.2% at 1.03 to 1.07 μm.

Ophir also has developed high-reflection mirror coatings for high-power fiber lasers that provide >99.7% reflectivity in the same range and >80% reflection at 650 to 670 nm.
