MAINZ, Germany, April 18, 2013 — Dilas has released a fiber-coupled tailored bar (T-Bar) that produces 120 W of output power at 976 nm from a 100-µm, 0.22-numerical-aperture fiber. The device is suitable for R&D use in direct diode applications and for excitation of Yb3+-doped media, such as fiber or solid-state lasers, that require robust, lightweight diode laser sources.

The T-Bar monolithic source architecture delivers high beam quality and power using standard micro-optic fast- and slow-axis collimators, all assembled with automated processes. It also can handle multiple emitters during each manufacturing step, resulting in enhanced reproducibility and fiber-coupling efficiency.
