COMMACK, N.Y., Sept. 27, 2013 — The 12100 series polarizing microscope from Unitron Ltd. is suited for the examination of birefringent materials for geology, petrography and crystallography.

The device comes with either a binocular or trinocular (50/50 light split) viewing head, a centerable nosepiece and a white 5-W LED illuminator. Interpupillary distance is adjustable from 53 to 75 mm, while wide-field 10× focusable eyepieces provide a 20-mm field of view.

Other features include 4×, 10×, 20× and 40× strain-free objectives; 360° rotatable stage with fully indexed vernier scale and stage clips; tension-adjustable coaxial coarse/fine focus system; 360° rotatable polarizer and analyzer; λ tint plate, ¼-λ retardation plate and quartz wedge; and a 100 to 240 V universal power supply.
