Exalos AGRequest Info
SCHLIEREN, Switzerland, June 1, 2007 -- Exalos has released 1520-nm superluminescent LEDs (SLEDs) for fiber-optic sensor, telecommunication and instrumentation applications.
SLEDs are semiconductor light sources that combine the spatial coherence of a laser diode with the temporal incoherence of an LED. The new SLEDs feature high output power, large bandwidth and cost effective housing and very low ripple values, Exalos said. Typical values for the EXS5205-8111 are 0.4-mW optical output power in a single-mode fiber and 60-nm 3dB spectral bandwidth centered at 1520 nm. The standard product is delivered in a TOSA housing with monitor diode and FC/APC.
Devices in TO-56 housings are also available. All devices are based on Exalos proprietary design. The SLEDs are in production and are Bellcore GR-468-CORE qualified. For more information about our SLEDs please
