16-MP Image SensorOmniVision Technologies Inc. has announced the OV16860, a 16-MP PureCel Plus-S image sensor for high-end smartphones and action cameras.

The sensor offers low-light performance and fast readout architecture with 1.3-μm pixels, enabling full-resolution recording at a frame rate of 45 fps. It also supports high dynamic range, phase detection autofocus and slow-motion video recording.

The 1/2.4-in. sensor can fit into a 10.5 × 10.5-mm module with a low Z-height of 5.8 mm.
