Master Bond Inc.Request Info
HACKENSACK, N.J., July 31, 2007 -- Achieving high-performance cures at low temperatures has long been a problem for epoxy resin compositions. Master Bond Inc. said it has overcome this problem with its EP27 two-component epoxy resin system.
In 6-mm thick films, EP27 will set in as little as two hours at only 40 °F and will cure in 48-72 hours, the company said. The product also features remarkably high physical strength properties, superior chemical resistance and outstanding electrical insulation characteristics over a wide temperature range.
EP27 has a noncritical mix ratio of 2 to 1 by weight or volume and a desirable low mixed viscosity of only 2000 cps. The cured epoxy resin system offers outstanding physical strength properties and excellent chemical resistance, according to the company.
EP27 features unmatched long-term resistance to immersion in such aggressive solvents as ethanol, toluene, butyl cellosolve, 70 percent sulfuric acid, 30 percent nitric acid, 50 percent sodium hydroxide and bleaches, Master Bond said. It also has high bond strength to metallic and nonmetallic substrates.
