CARO, Mich., July 30, 2014 — The 3-D Cobalt from Laser Machining Technologies LLC is an 18-W fiber laser for cutting and shaping a variety of materials.

The system operates at 1064 nm and is accurate to 2500 nm with a machining range of 40 × 40 mm.

Suitable materials for use with the system include PCD, CVD-D, CBN, tungsten carbide, rubies, and natural and man-made diamonds.
