Collecting and combining a set of through-focus images to produce one high-resolution micrograph of a sample, a new generation of 3-D microscopes from Edge-3D provide completely focused images.

The 3-D microscopes allow scientists to clearly visualize specimens that are 10 to 20 times thicker than those required by 2-D microscopes.

The microscopes can impact the imaging of electronic devices, the analysis of fractured or corroded surfaces and the study of particle morphologies.
