The VK-X160K 3D Laser Scanning Confocal Microscope from Keyence Corp. improves throughput and accuracy of metallurgical studies.
The microscope features a 408-nm wavelength semiconductor laser, a motorized stage with 100-mm, X-Y travels and optics capable of 28,800× magnification. Specimen preparation before measurement is unnecessary, as is a vacuum chamber.
Z-axis display resolution is as high as 0.5 nm, with a display resolution of 130 nm in the X and Y axes. Images are displayed via a high-resolution CCD camera, displaying subtle differences in surface relief and stunning large-area metallurgical maps.
