KARLSRUHE, Germany, Feb. 13, 2020 — 3D SensorsThe EyeVision 3D and EyeScan AT 3D sensors from EVT Eye Vision Technology GmbH now includes optical character recognition (OCR) and barcode reading.

The integrated “Surface OCR” tool recognizes and extracts character strings from surfaces using either the scan data of the 3D height map or the 2D intensity data. The “Surface Bar Code” tool codes the data into 1D and 2D bar codes, and can be read from the surface data without using an additional 2D camera or special bar code reader.
